WOVEN CARPETS

Carpets should not be placed in areas with high humidity or where hazardous chemicals are used.

Avoid placing furniture with sharp legs on the rug, and refrain from walking on the carpet frequently with high heels.

Do not drag furniture across the carpet.

Avoid direct sunlight. UV rays can cause the carpet to fade.

Carpets should be air-dried naturally; do not use dryers or heating devices.

Regularly vacuum the carpet with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.

A new carpet may shed some fibers. This is a natural process that varies by climate. If you vacuum consistently during the first month, the shedding will gradually stop, and the carpet will be in its best condition.

Store the carpet by rolling it up. Do not fold it, as creases may develop over time.

Do not pull loose threads. If you notice threads coming undone, carefully trim them with scissors.

Do not scrub stains with a brush. If any liquid is spilled on the carpet, blot it with a sponge or cloth, and lift the carpet off the floor to allow air to circulate underneath for drying.

Due to the handmade nature of the carpet, it cannot be deep-cleaned at home with common detergents.

It is recommended to have the carpet professionally deep-cleaned every two years.

Note

There will be some differences between hand-quilted rugs and industrial rugs, especially in terms of size variation.

The reason for size discrepancies in handmade rugs is due to the many manual processes involved in creating them. Size variations may range from +/- 2% in width to +/- 4% in length. Casanha’s wool yarns are hand-spun, which results in varying yarn diameters and, consequently, knots of different sizes. Thinner yarns produce smaller knots, while thicker yarns produce larger knots. Therefore, smaller knots result in a smaller rug, and larger knots result in a larger rug. Additionally, during the hand-weaving process, each row of knots is compacted manually, which also contributes to size variations.

Regarding color: Actual product colors may vary by +/- 10% compared to images viewed on digital devices due to differences in lighting. Please contact or visit Casanha to view the product in person.

Recycled Materials

Over three decades of experimentation in material engineering have enabled Casanhà's suppliers to create some of the most innovative raw materials, including recycled materials from old jeans or plastic bottles.

Eco-Friendly Process

The machines used in the making of carpets may appear archaic, but they are entirely based on engineering first principle, resulting in durable products while consuming minimal energy in the production process.
