Trim the wick to about 0.75 cm above the wax surface to prevent the wick from being too short and falling into the melted wax or getting blackened from previous burns.<\/p><p data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"879\"><strong data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"879\">EXTINGUISH THE CANDLE SAFELY<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"881\" data-end=\"1235\">Properly putting out the candle after use is essential for safety and prolonging the candle\u2019s life. If your candle has a lid, gently close the lid to gradually extinguish the flame. If there is no lid, use a candle snuffer to put out the flame. It\u2019s best to stop burning when about 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom. You can then reuse the container as a vase or storage jar.<\/p><p data-start=\"1632\" data-end=\"1796\">To clean leftover wax in the container, pour hot water in and let it sit.
